Palmer Polaski Honored with the 2012 Pro Bono Service Award at the Immigrant Liberty Awards
Denver, Colorado, May 31st – Palmer Polaski received the 2012 Pro Bono Service Award from the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) at a ceremony and benefit held this evening at The Hellenic Community Center, Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Denver. All proceeds from the event went to the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network (RMIAN). RMIAN is a non-profit, legal advocacy organization that serves two of the most vulnerable immigrant populations in Colorado: men and women in immigration detention, and immigrant children who have suffered from abuse, neglect, or violence. RMIAN believes that all people, regardless of their financial status, should be empowered with legal information and are owed due process. Also honored at the event with Immigrant Liberty Awards were Stanley Garnett, Esq. (Boulder County DistrictAttorney); Asnake Deferse (Community Organizer); and Raul & Judy Cardenas (Immigration Reform Advocates).
